Sunshine Gardens Park Coalition members, 

We hope everyone is having a great summer and we wanted to start by apologizing for a long delay between updates. The Core team has also been caught up with work, family summer plans and a few Coalition related efforts. Here are a few updates to share. 

 

• The first exciting update is that we now have a website! sgpark.info is now live with much of the information we have gathered to date. We plan to update this regularly with any relevant information to our cause. In addition, there is also a "Join the Coalition" form where we can add new neighbors to the Coalition group for future updates/support. The website and associated group email allows us to ensure we keep your emails private and eases all future communications. The website also has an events page where we posted some highlights from our May 11th meeting and the upcoming National Night Out event.

• We have also been trying to arrange a followup chat with the district to share our latest information and understand where they are with the park initiative. More to come on this topic.  

• National night out is coming up on August 6th. There is an event on the website and we will be distributing flyers in the neighborhood this week and next. We will be doing a joint event with Buri Buri due to venue limitations this year with some work going on at the Elementary school. Please RSVP here if able so we can plan accordingly. Your information will not be shared and only for headcount/food ordering purposes. We plan to have a table for the Sunshine Gardens Coalition to spread the word and meet our members and neighbors.

We do have a few asks for the coalition. The first is that we welcome any and all feedback so please check out the website and send us any suggestions at support@sgpark.info. Our next ask is that you help spread the word about the coalition and tell your neighbors about the new website so we can continue to build support. Lastly, we hope you can make it to National Night Out 2024 so we can continue to build community in parallel to this important initiative.
